People wearing braces in movies have often been referred to as geeks or nerds, but now the dental gear is catching on in a big way. Brace yourself.
Yahoo! Screen reports that Asian teenagers are wearing fake braces for fashion. The trend has become popular in China, Indonesia and Thailand.
In fact, the accessory is so popular that teens are buying knock-off dental braces at salons, street vendors and even on the black market. Thailand even banned knock-off braces after two teenagers died from infections.
