After winning an award for playing Sarah Palin in the HBO movie Game Change, actress Julianne Moore’s praised Katie Couric and Tina Fey during her acceptance speech at the Golden Globe awards last night.

The film won Best Television Movie/Miniseries, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Television Movie or Miniseries.

“I would like to give a shout out to two people who made a significant difference in the 2008 election – Tina Fey and Katie Couric,” Moore said as she concluded her speech.

Prior to the awards ceremony, Moore asserted that she had a “tremendous amount of trepidation” as she pondered taking the role as Palin for the movie.

“Obviously when you’re doing someone who’s so well known, so very, very present in the news it’s a big hurdle to get over, you know?” she said.

Moore explained that the Game Change crew “tried to be as as accurate as possible,” for her portrayal as Palin.

“We did a lot of research – that helped certainly,” she added.

Director Jay Roach called Moore “one of the most amazing actresses I have ever worked with” after winning a “Best Director” role in the movie – praising her for being “so brave to take the role.”

“Now with you and Tina Fey we have three of the most incredible impersonations of Sarah Palin counting Sarah Palin,” Roach joked.
