DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Elizabeth Williams figures she made the right decision by choosing Duke.
She could have been on the other side of next week's huge women's basketball game between No. 3 Connecticut and the fourth-ranked Blue Devils.
The sophomore star chose Duke over a long list of programs that included Geno Auriemma's powerhouse — and the shot-blocking post player on a pre-med track couldn't be happier with her choice.
Williams — the daughter of a doctor — said Friday that she felt like Duke "was the place for me" because of its elite academic reputation and because of the chance to bring the school its first national title in women's hoops.
She and the Blue Devils (16-0) visit UConn (15-1) on Monday in one of the biggest intersectional matchups of the season.
