NEWS OF THE DAY: For a second consecutive day, a report linking Ray Lewis to a company that says it makes performance-enhancers intruded on the retirement send-off the Ravens linebacker has been anticipating. He again said he "never, ever took" the products and added that he's certain his teammates won't be distracted by the report.

QUOTE THE RAVENS: "Don't let people from the outside ever come and try to disturb what's inside. That's the trick of the devil. The trick of the devil is to kill, steal and destroy. That's what he comes to do. He comes to distract you from everything you're trying to do. There's no man ever trained as hard as our team has trained. There's no man that's went through what we went through. So to give somebody credit that doesn't deserve credit, that would be a slap in the face for everything we went through." — Ray Lewis.

QUOTE THE 49ERS: "I just know that I think for people to understand me a little more, to understand what I have been through, I would like to write a book. I really do not have a title for it right now. ... A lot of you guys at this table, I have never seen you before and I know you do not know me. You just know what you read. I think for you to really understand me and what I come from and how I do things, you need to read it." — Randy Moss.

SUPER HISTORY: On Jan. 30, 2000, the St. Louis Rams beat the Tennessee Titans 23-16. On the final play, Titans receiver Kevin Dyson scrambled for the end zone only to be stopped just short as he reached in vain for the goal line.

NEXT TWO SUPER SITE TEMPS: New Orleans (59 degrees, cloudy, windy); East Rutherford, N.J. (56 degrees, cloudy).
