January Auto Sales: Ford

DETROIT (AP) — Ford Motor Co. said Monday that its January U.S. sales fell 7.5 percent due to winter storms.

BY THE NUMBERS: The Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker said it sold 153,494 cars and trucks in January, down from 165,863 a year ago.

TOP SELLERS: Ford sold 46,536 F-Series pickup trucks, or 305 fewer than a year ago. Sales of the Fusion midsize sedan were down 7.5 percent to 20,717.

HOT MODELS: Ford's luxury Lincoln brand saw a 43 percent increase on strong sales of the MKZ sedan, which went on sale last spring, and the MKX crossover. MKZ sales rose 368 percent to 2,122.
