BOSTON (AP) — Around 400,000 Massachusetts residents have no power, and many are dealing with at least two feet of snow as more snow keeps falling.
Many of the outages Saturday morning are on the South Shore, South Coast and Cape Cod, according to utilities National Grid and NStar.
In Quincy, Fire Deputy Gary Smith says power is out in most of the city. One neighborhood was evacuated Friday night, and another is being evacuated Saturday morning because of flooding concerns. Smith says about a dozen people are in a shelter set up at Quincy High School.
Boston and much of eastern Massachusetts are under a blizzard warning until 1 p.m. Saturday. A flood warning was in effect until noon Saturday for the state's east-facing coastline, with the worst conditions expected Saturday morning.
