FLINT, Mich. (AP) — The Flint Institute of Arts plans to bring the artwork of students to Washington, D.C., as part of a U.S. Department of Education effort.

A dress rehearsal is 6 p.m. Monday at the FIA Theater in Flint.

The Flint Institute of Arts formed a collaboration called Flint Arts on the Road that includes students from its Pre-College Portfolio Development Program, as well as students from the Flint Youth Theatre, the Flint School of the Performing Arts, and Tapology.

The Washington event is planned April 22.

For that event, Flint's student exhibition will be on view in the Lyndon B. Johnson Building. And the Flint Youth Theatre's Drama School, a Flint School of the Performing Arts quartet and Tapology's youth ensemble will perform at an Education Department auditorium.
