AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Longtime Detroit Pistons athletic trainer Mike Abdenour is recovering from what the team is calling a medical "episode."

In a statement Friday, the Pistons said Abdenour "experienced an episode" on Sunday that required hospitalization.

The team says doctors alleviated the situation with a stent procedure and expect a full recovery. Abdenour is resting at home.

Abdenour is in his 34th season with the Pistons and 37th overall in the NBA.

Abdenour says in the statement that he looks "forward to a speedy recovery."
