ERIE, Pa. (AP) — An inmate has been convicted of sexually assaulting a female doctor at a state prison in northwestern Pennsylvania.

The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/12HIBA1 ) reports an Erie County jury deliberated more than two hours before convicting 34-year-old D'Rob Sanders on charges including attempted rape, aggravated assault and aggravated indecent assault.

The doctor, who has not been able to return to work because of her injuries, testified that Sanders entered her office at the state prison in Albion on Sept. 24, turned off the lights, and forced her to the floor. During a 10- to 15-minute struggle, Sanders tried to smother and strangle the woman and molested her, but the doctor says she fought off his attempts to rape her by stabbing him with a pen, thumbing his eye, and kicking him.

Sanders will be sentenced July 17.
