FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A travel alert has been issued for southeast North Dakota.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation says the area includes the cities of Jamestown, Ellendale, Edgeley, Valley City, Wahpeton, Fargo, Hillsboro and surrounding areas.

Motorists can still travel in the areas but should be advised that heavy snow and blowing snow is reducing visibility in icy conditions.

The department is encouraging motorists to reduce speeds and drive according to conditions.
