Local artist and photographer, Jack Fowler, will be presenting a collection of photos taken on his recent trip to Uganda, Africa.
During the month of July, Fowler spent his time working with “Pros For Africa”, a non-profit organization that “encourages professionals of all fields to share what they know, have and create with the children of Africa.” Because of this organization, Fowler had the opportunity to work with underprivileged children in various orphanages, clean kitchens, served food, shared his art and music, and did whatever was asked of him.
One day prior to departure, Fowler purchased a new Nikon lens, and as a result took more than 10,000 photos in three weeks. His primary subject became the people of the land. The photos were taken in the West Nile Region of Uganda, July 1-21.
The show will take place at Twisted Root Gallery, 3012 N Walker, September 12, 2013 from 7pm to 10pm. Catered dinner will be served and there will be live music throughout the evening. Entertainment provided by Justin and Amanda Fortney and White Mule.
Fowler will be donating a portion of the proceeds of the event to “Pros For Africa”. Join us as we delve into photography that truly captures the spirit of the people of Uganda.
