As Syria Vote Nears, Reps. Cole, Lankford and Bridenstine Hold Town Halls on Tuesday

With action in Washington focused on an upcoming congressional vote to authorize U.S. military action in Syria, three members of Oklahoma’s congressional delegation are holding town hall meetings Tuesday in the state.

Rep. James Lankford, R-Oklahoma City, is holding a meeting at 6 p.m. at the Bethany library, but his office cautioned that space is VERY LIMITED; only about 60 people can get in. Considering that Lankford drew about 500 to a town hall meeting last month, that could be a problem. The Bethany library is at 3510 N Mueller.

Rep. Tom Cole, R-Moore, has a meeting scheduled at 5:30 p.m. in Midwest City:
Rose State College – Professional Training Center
Room 108-111
1720 Hudiburg Dr.
Midwest City, OK 73110

Rep. Jim Bridenstine has a town hall meeting scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Chapel in Bartlesville.

And he has another at 6:30 p.m. at the Bailey Golf Course Club House in Owasso.

Congress is still on its summer break this week, but some members have returned to Washington for briefings and two Senate committees are holding meetings this week on the Syria authorization.
House Speaker John Boehner, R-OH, and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-VA, announced today that they will support President Barack Obama’s request to use military in Syria.
