Assessments were developed using demographic, social and economic characteristics combined with actual health statistics for the areas.

The information was gleaned from multiple sources, including U.S. Census Bureau, Oklahoma State Department of Health and the city-county health department, then matched against county averages to determine an aggregate score.

The final product allows the department to compare the county's so-called unhealthiest ZIP code, 73111, with the county's healthiest, 73151.

It should be noted one ZIP code, 73117, produces a lower aggregate score than 73111, but department officials said that ZIP code was not selected for its cardiovascular wellness campaign because a smaller population and lack of additional study resources — schools, restaurants — may have distorted its score.

Mortality figures are per 100,000 residents.

ZIP code 73151

• Population: 1,446

• Median household income: $36,680
