Under the federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act, the state releases motor vehicle records for $10 to organizations and individuals for any of the following reasons:


→Vehicle safety matters

→Court proceedings

→Research activities

→Insurance claims, underwriting, investigations or other insurance-related activities

→Vehicle towing and impounding notices

→Commercial driver’s license verification by employers

→If requested by a licensed private investigator or security service

→If requested by a government agency, law enforcement, court or tribal court

→If requested by a private toll transportation entity

→If written consent is provided from the person whose record is requested
