Oklahoma City water customers used 5.3 billion gallons of water in July. That number represents the second-highest monthly total in the city's history, behind the 5.5 billion gallons used in July 2011. Oklahoma City used an average of 4.1 billion gallons each July over the last 15 years. The water usage Tuesday reached nearly 198 million gallons, which is about 4 million gallons shy of the all-time single-day record and well above the 171 million gallon daily average for last month. The all-time daily record stands at 202 million gallons, set on July 30, 2011.
