Six Oklahoma teachers were honored as Rising Star Teachers during the state Teacher of the Year awards ceremony Tuesday morning. The winners were first named Teachers of the Year in their home districts. They each received more than $1,000 in cash and prizes.

• Marcy Jack teaches kindergarten at the Ada Early Childhood Center.

• Bridgette Smith teaches English at Bartlesville Mid-High School.

• Brandon Chitty teaches science at Centennial Middle School for Broken Arrow Public Schools.

• Mary Ann Campbell teaches English, government, yearbook and speech for Carnegie Public Schools.

• Andrea Tomlison-Brown teaches English at Millwood High School.

• Tara Fisher teaches English at Okeene High School.
