At a glance

The Emergency Medical Services Authority provides ambulance service to more than 1 million residents in central and northeast Oklahoma.

The Metropolitan Medical Response System is EMSA's emergency and disaster preparedness division and was established in Tulsa and Oklahoma City in 1999. The organization has eight full-time employees.

The Medical Emergency Response Center coordinates medical services during disasters. EMSA operates response centers in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Lawton, which are staffed only when they are needed.
