WHITEFISH, Mont. (AP) — Athletes from Eastern Oregon and Rocky Mountain College have been named the Frontier Conference football players of the week.
EOU running back Christopher McGinnis-Parker was named the Frontier Conference and the NAIA offensive player of the week after rushing for 187 yards and three touchdowns and catching the game-winning 19-yard touchdown pass as the winless Mountaineers rallied to beat then-third-ranked Carroll College 35-31.
EOU linebacker Matt Gayman was named the conference's defensive player of the week. He had eight solo tackles, six assisted tackles, two tackles for a loss and two quarterback sacks in the Montaineers' upset of the Saints.
Rocky Mountain kicker Ryan Steska earned special teams honors. He kicked a 32-yard field goal and made his only extra point attempt in Rocky's 13-6 win over Montana Tech.
