Atromitos beats Giannena 1-0 to stay in 3rd place

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Veteran forward Dimitris Papadopoulos scored in the 33rd minute to give Atromitos a 1-0 win over Giannena in the Greek league on Saturday.

The win kept Atromitos in third place, a point ahead of Panathinaikos, which beat Platanias 1-0, and five behind second-place PAOK, which hosts second-to-last Veria on Sunday.

League leader Olympiakos, 10 points ahead of PAOK, visits Xanthi on Sunday.

Also, Kalloni and Apollon played to a scoreless draw.
