AT&T on Thursday afternoon said its U-verse television and high-speed Internet service had been restored for all customers who had experienced outages this week.
The outages, which began Monday, affected customers in the southwest and southeast regions, including Oklahoma.
“The software problem causing the issues was resolved by AT&T engineers early this morning. We are not pleased it took so long to fix the issue,” Oklahoma-based spokeswoman Emily Lang said in a statement issued by the company.
The company said it would issue credits to customers who experienced lost service. Lang said credits should appear on customers' bills within 60 days. The amount of the credit will depend on the length of the outage, Lang said.
If the credit hasn't appeared within 60 days, customers should call AT&T to make sure they get the credit, she said.
The outage affected less than 1 percent of U-verse subscribers, which totaled 7.4 million nationwide at the end of September.
“We know our customers count on their U-verse service and we apologize for the inconvenience,” Lang said.
