Attendance rises at Will Rogers’ sites
CLAREMORE — On Nov. 4, 1879, in a house not far from the Verdigris River , Mary America Rogers and husband Clem Rogers became the parents of a boy.
They named him William Penn Adair Rogers.
He was a trick roper, a newspaper columnist, a humorist, a Ziegfeld Follies star, a radio commentator, the star of 71 motion pictures, a philosopher and a philanthropist.
