Attributes a Here's a look at the attributes OSU offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen values in a quarterback and how Brandon Weeden ranks in each attribute.

Knowledge of the game

Weeden's knowledge of the game is growing every day, but remember he took a five-year hiatus from football, so he's trying to catch up.

Competitiveness

Weeden told his teammates they were going to win the Colorado game when he entered at halftime. Competitiveness is not a problem for the former pro baseball player.

Understanding what we are trying to do

Weeden's understanding of the offense is improving, but he still has a ways to go, having only been in the offense for eight months.

Having the mental capacity to understand

Clearly Weeden is smart and has the mental capacity to handle what is thrown at him.

Having good feet

Weeden has better mobility than some people give him credit for and should be able to create positive plays out of the pocket.

Quick release

Weeden has a solid release that he is working to make quicker.

Accuracy

Weeden is accurate and continues to work to improve his accuracy.

Arm Strength

Weeden has exceptional arm strength, one of the best arms in college football.

Pocket presence

Another aspect the Cowboys' quarterbacks work on daily, Weeden has good pocket presence, which should improve.
