Open casting for the upcoming film version of Tracy Letts' “August: Osage County” has changed locations, organizers announced Thursday.
The casting call will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Tulsa Promenade Mall, 4107 S Yale, in Tulsa.
The event was moved from its previously scheduled location at the Doubletree Warren Place to allow for greater attendance and participation, said casting director Chris Freihofer.
“We want to ensure a fun, positive, comfortable experience for everyone involved, and our friends at the Promenade Mall were happy to accommodate us,” Freihofer said in a prepared statement.
The film, which stars Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep, is in preproduction and is scheduled to begin filming in September.
The casting call is designed to identify people who can be used in nonspeaking roles.
“We will ask everyone to provide us with contact information and clothing sizes, and we will take everyone's pictures. The whole process should take less than 10 minutes,” Freihofer said.
Those who cannot attend the event but would like to be considered for the paid work as extras can submit a name, mailing address, email address, phone numbers, height and all clothing sizes including shoes to AugustExtras@gmail.com.
