BORNEMANN Aura Ethel Alberts Bornemann, age 84, of El Reno passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2000 in El Reno. She was born April 17, 1915 to Albert & Hattie Kunkel Alberts in OKC. She graduated from Britton High School and had been a homemaker in the El Reno (Banner) area since 1937. Aura Ethel had been active in the Friendly Circle Home Demonstration Club, the Canadian County Farm Bureau, and several other organizations, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Yukon, and former member of the Grange and International Guild of Candle Artisans. She was Oklahoma State Fair Pie Baking Champion in 1968, Canadian County Fair Pie Baking Champion twice and the 1982 Canadian County Homemaker of the Year. Aura Ethel loved gardening, cooking, and candle making. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin W. Bornemann, son William A. Bornemann, brothers Archie Alberts, and Albert Alberts, and sisters Adele Adamson, Audrie Alberts and Alice Ramsey. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard K. and Joyce Bornemann of El Reno, Robert A. & Frances Bornemann of Fairfield, CA, Phillip R. & Rory Bornemann of Yukon, and Roger L. & Barbara Bornemann of El Reno, 8 grandchildren, Cindy R. Bornemann Manning of Yukon, Barry K. Bornemann of Yukon, Jan Bornemann Gerber of Yukon, Susan Bornemann Teague of Yukon, DeAnn Bornemann Atallah of Vacaville, CA, Chanda Bornemann Williams of Dixon, CA, Craig Bornemann of El Reno, and Justin Bornemann of El Reno, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 4 at 10:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church in Yukon with burial in the El Reno Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or Russell Murray Hospice of El Reno.
