OKEMAH -- On the one year anniversary of the deaths of two girls near Weleetka that remains unsolved, a law enforcement spokeswoman pleaded for help to break the case.

"We are one piece of information away from making an arrest," said Jessica Brown, OSBI spokeswoman.

"I don't know why a person with information would not come forward," Brown said.

Brown spoke on the steps of the Okfuskee County Courthouse this morning on the anniversary of the deaths of Taylor Placker, 13, and Skyla Whitaker, 11.

She said the deaths are still being actively investigated and there is no cold case.

Peter Placker, father of Taylor, also spoke at the news conference this morning.

"There is one person out there who knows who did this," Placker said.

He urged that person to come forward.

"I can't find a reason any more to smile."
