MELVINDALE, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a fire at a Marathon Petroleum Co. refinery in the Detroit area has injured an employee.

Marathon spokesman Shane Pochard tells the Detroit Free Press the small fire Wednesday morning was extinguished quickly and the worker had minor injuries.

Pochard says the fire occurred during maintenance activities.

TV stations WDIV and WXYZ report the fire prompted an evacuation of dozens of workers at the refinery in Melvindale. Marathon says the all-clear later was given.
