A Warr Acres bank was robbed Tuesday afternoon, the FBI reported.

About 4:55 p.m., a black man or woman entered the Bank of the West, 5757 Northwest Expressway, and gave a teller a note demanding money. The note implied that he or she had a gun. The teller gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money, the FBI reported.

No weapon was observed, and no one was injured in the robbery.

The robber was last seen leaving the bank westbound on Northwest Expressway in a pewter colored, early 2000-model, four-door Lexus. The car was driven by an unidentified person, the FBI reported.

The robber was described as being a black man or possibly woman with light complexion and long dreadlocks, in his or her mid-30s, of heavy build and about 5 feet 6 inches tall, the FBI reported.

The FBI and Warr Acres police are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the FBI at 290-7770. Callers may remain anonymous and are eligible for a Oklahoma Bankers Association reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for robbing a member bank.
