Edmond is blessed with a number of authors.

Our city has many nationally published fiction, romance, historical and Christian writers.

I count myself among them, having had my first book, "The Cost of Deception,” published in 2001.

Just the other day I checked to see how sales were doing according to Amazon.com.

My sales rank was 1,559,344. That puts me in the top 1.6 million of all authors.

Move over John Grisham.

What I really want to let you know is the Edmond Historical Society and Museum is having its annual Edmond Author’s Book Fair this month.

The book fair is 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 24.

This is a free event for Edmond authors to publicize and sell their books.

If you would like to be a part of the book fair, e-mail your contact information to Christine Gibson at cgibson @coxinet.net.

If you would like more information, go to www.edmondhistory.org or call 340-0078.

The Edmond Historical Society & Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Predictions
In response to my Edmond predictions for 2009, Richard Prawdzienski e-mailed his forecast for the year:

• City of Edmond will not reduce fees or taxes.

• Eddy’s income will not be sufficient from rider fees.

• Edmond’s ‘Bridge to nowhere’ will be in national news.

• Majority of Edmond residents will be registered Republican regardless of tax and spending policy.

Jason Even if it is the coloring variety it would still be several steps above the books in Seattle

A book fair in Oklahoma? Must be of the coloring variety.
