She also had her neck cut from ear-to-ear to the bone and was sexually assaulted, possibly after death, a doctor found.
Jamie was the 10-year-old Purcell girl whose disappearance and bizarre death in April attracted nationwide attention.
A neighbor, Kevin Ray Underwood, 26, is charged with first-degree murder. His preliminary hearing is set for August.
Police and prosecutors allege Underwood killed the girl for his own sexual gratification and to fulfill a fantasy of becoming a cannibal. Her nude body was found April 14 on a towel in a storage tub in a bedroom closet of his apartment.
An FBI agent has disclosed in court papers that Underwood confessed.
Purcell Police Chief David Tompkins and District Attorney Tim Kuykendall revealed details of her death in April. They alleged Underwood struck Jamie in the head with a cutting board, then smothered her with his hand and duct tape. They also alleged Underwood tried to cut off her head with a decorative dagger and may have molested her corpse.
