As Kool and the Gang sang, “Celebrate good times, come on!”

Now is truly the best time in my life.

There are numerous things that make up who I am.

Today as the calendar nears Christmas, I celebrate gifts I have received.

The gift of self-confidence

Having a family that taught me the importance of knowing that I could be what I wanted to be and do anything I wanted to do — that I was just as good as anyone; however, not better than anyone.

That what I thought and spoke would be what I created.

As some would say in the church, I claimed it and it is mine.

To claim anything is to know that your faith in God and the process is manifesting right now.

The gift of self-reflection

I heard my calling and made a conscious effort to accept it.

Years have passed, and I was reminded of a “spiritual message” through Jill Scott's lyrics “Livin' my life like it's golden, golden. It really matters to me.”

As a Boomer, I realized the importance of preparing for my life as I got older.

I have accepted the fact that this is the best time in my life.

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

The gift of service

I have always been a true believer that we come into this life to learn lessons and from those lessons we learn to make a contribution to the world.
