Azalea Festival just around the corner

MUSKOGEE -- If all goes well, there will be an improved annual Azalea Festival this year at Honor Heights Park.

City crews are working on fixing up the azalea beds, making them nicer, newer, the Muskogee Phoenix reports.

More than 1,000 azaleas have been added to replace those lost during the past few years.

That should help the area, which has been hard-hit by weather conditions through at least 2007.

City officials said some of the park's azaleas were planted in the 1960s.
