A number of organizations are planning back to school events in Oklahoma City.

The following back-to-school events are planned in the metro area. Information on how to participate or give a donation may be obtained by calling the phone numbers listed.

• “Day of Hope” backpack, school supply and grocery giveaway, plus free health screenings, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 4 at Millwood High School field house, 6724 N Martin Luther King, and Midwest City High School, 213 Elm Drive, Midwest City. • “Feeding 5,000/Impact 5,000” backpack and school supply giveaway, plus free meal, 9 a.m. Aug. 4, OKC Faith Church, 800 S Portland. Information: 948-7100.

• “Slip-n-Slide Back-to-School” backpack/supply giveaway and community fair, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 4, Family of Faith Church, 13500 SE 15, Choctaw. Information: 769-8751.
