He made the most of it.

Baker slugged a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Oklahoma a thrilling 11-10, elimination-game victory over Vanderbilt on Sunday at the Tempe Regional.

Oklahoma rallied from deficits of 6-1 and 8-5 and then watched as the Commodores scored two runs in the top of the ninth to take a 10-9 lead.

But that didn't deter the Sooners.

"The character of our club is just amazing, coach Sunny Golloway said.

So is Baker.

With pinch-runner Tyson Seng on first — Casey Johnson had walked with one out — Baker took a pitch that the Commodores thought should have been called strike three.

Given a reprieve, Baker slammed the next pitch over the right-center field fence to give the Sooners a victory.

It was Baker's third home run in two games.

"He's done that all year for us,” Golloway said.

Michael Rocha got the win with four innings of two-run relief. Baker and Johnson had three RBIs apiece.

If by their best baseball that means getting a 12 run beat down by ASU TWICE. I told you all the day the fields got announced that ASU would end OU's season, and my Devils proved me right.
