First Fidelity Bank is launching a new mobile banking program on Sunday to allow customers to access account information through Internet-capable cellular phones.

"Mobile banking allows customers to check account balances, transfer funds and pay bills online, except now you don't have to be at a computer to do it,” Bank President Lee Symcox said.

First Fidelity customers can begin to access their accounts by going to the bank's Web site through their cellular Web browser. Prior to the implementation of the mobile banking system, cellular phones were not able to correctly view the bank's home page, making it difficult for customers to access their accounts.

"Our new program reformats the Web page to be viewable on a small screen,” Symcox said.
