Scouting report: The Barons are 0-2 after losing back-to-back 3-2 decisions at home last weekend against Charlotte. ... Saturday's game is the season opener for the Iowa Wild, formerly the Houston Aeros. ... Last season, the Aeros lost in five games in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs to Grand Rapids, the Calder Cup champion. ... OKC defenseman Philip Larson and center Ryan Martindale both scored two points (one goal, one assist) in the Barons' first two games. Tyler Pitlick, off to a solid start, and veteran Ryan Jones scored the Barons' other two goals. ... OKC goalie Richard Bachman is 0-2 with a 3.02 goals-against average and .897 save percentage. ... The Wild, Minnesota's Triple-A affiliate, returns only two of its top six scorers from last year's team in Houston — Jason Zucker, a 21-year-old forward who scored 50 points and 55 games, and 27-year-old defenseman Brian Connelly, an AHL All-Star the past two seasons. ... In net, Johan Gustafsson, 21, last season was one of the top goalies (1.74 GAA, .930 save percentage) in Sweden's pro league. The other goalie, John Curry, 29, appeared in four NHL games with the Penguins earlier in his career.
