Barons notebook: Fourth time not a charm for Oklahoma City

Saturday night's 4-2 victory inside the Cox Convention Center was Abbotsford's first triumph in four games against the Oklahoma City Barons this season.

Asked what the Heat did differently than the previous three games, OKC goaltender Yann Danis said, "They battled hard. I thought they were going at the net a little bit more. It's just one of those games. I feel like we could have won that game. It's not as much as what they did different."

Barons coach Todd Nelson pointed to Abbotsford's early aggressiveness.

"I think they had a bit more jump than us," Nelson said. "It's pretty hard to beat a team four times in a row. Sooner or later, they're going to get one on us."


Entering Saturday's contest, the Baron's goaltending had been brilliant at home. Danis had allowed 1.15 goals per game with a save percentage of .963 and David LeNeveu had allowed 1.45 goals with a .952 save percentage.
