Oklahoma City moved two standings points ahead of both Abbotsford and Houston with Sunday's win. Houston was idle Sunday.

The win kept the Barons from falling out of first place for the first time in almost a month. The Barons have held at least a share of first place in the American Hockey League Western Division since Dec. 17. Abbotsford can pull into a tie with Oklahoma City on Monday night by beating San Antonio.

The Barons now hit the road for a three-game trip to Rochester (N.Y.) and Cleveland.

They face Rochester at 6:05 p.m. Thursday and 6:35 p.m. Friday and the Lake Erie Monsters in Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

They return home Friday, Jan. 27 to face Houston followed by a home game against Texas on Jan. 28 at the Cox Convention Center.

The Barons have now gone a franchise-record six games without a power-play goal.

“We didn't get any power-play goals tonight, but we had our pk's (penalty killing) going,” Barons' head coach Todd Nelson said. “I thought our power play was better tonight. The puck is just not going in on the power play, but it's going to just as long as we just stick with it.”

The Barons are 0-for-29 in their last six games on the power play.

Hunter Tremblay had one of the best games of his Barons' career on his birthday. He turned 27 on Sunday.
