Barons defenseman Taylor Fedun recorded two assists in Oklahoma City's 5-4 loss to the Texas Stars on Tuesday night to move into the top 10 in the American Hockey League in blue-line scoring.
Fedun, who scored 27 points in his rookie season, already has 14 points in 21 games. Fedun made his NHL debut earlier this season, scoring two goals in four games with the Oilers.
“I've been focusing on doing things away from the puck and let everything else take care of itself, especially since I got back from Edmonton,” Fedun said. “I've had some success in the offensive zone. I'm very happy with that but at the end of the day it's my play in the D-zone I'm striving to get better at.”
OMARK RIDING 6-GAME STREAK
Forward Linus Omark recorded assists on Oklahoma City's first two goals to increase his scoring streak to six straight games. The Barons' leading scorer with 25 points in 23 games, Omark has scored one goal and notched eight assists during the streak.
“He's a special player,” said Barons coach Todd Nelson. “He has some really spectacular goals but he can do both. He's a very unselfish player. He likes to set up guys.”
