FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Longtime University of Arkansas baseball announcer Chuck Barrett is stepping down.

Barrett and the university say he will continue as the Razorbacks play-by-play voice for football and basketball - but is giving up baseball duties after 23 years. Barrett has done all three sports the past seven years while also serving as the UA athletic department's director of broadcasting.

Barrett was first hired in 1992 to announce Razorback baseball games and has called more than 1,250 games since.
