The retired Detroit Lions running back will make the appearance in honor of the upcoming release of the “Madden NFL 25″ video game.
The hall of famer won a fan vote to appear on the cover of the 25th anniversary edition of Electronic Arts’ pro football video game. More than 40 million votes were cast, with Sanders topping former University of Oklahoma standout Adrian Peterson by a 58 percent to 42 percent margin, according to USA Today.
Sanders appears on the “Madden NFL 25″ covers for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, both due out Aug. 27.
From the looks of BestBuy.com, Peterson got a consolation prize for finishing second: The Minnesota Vikings running back appears on the cover of “Madden NFL 25″ for the upcoming Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions. Those release dates have not yet been revealed.
