Barry Switzer featured on Fox Sports Southwest's 'Icon of Coaching'

Host Dave Barnett says Switzer dispels several myths
by Mel Bracht Published: November 12, 2013

Barnett said he is hoping to return to baseball announcing next season, and his agent is investigating a few opportunities. His final telecast with the Rangers on June 18, 2012, included him delivering a string of gibberish. The Rangers sent him to several doctors for some kind of explanation, and then decided against bringing him back this past season.

“What was finally termed after months of testing, a medical anomaly, maybe 15 seconds on the air that doctors thought could have been a number of different things,” he said. “I was checked for all of them. They all turned out to be negative.”
