Marine war veteran Anthony Marquez’s quest to reunite with his military working dog — once a ground mission — will soon take flight.
Courtesy of Barry Switzer and the Quapaw Tribe-operated Downstream Casino, Marquez, of Owasso, was scheduled to fly via Learjet on Sunday evening to North Carolina, where he will adopt Allie, a bomb-detection dog with whom he served in Afghanistan.
“I love dogs. I care about dogs,” said Switzer, the former University of Oklahoma football coach and longtime dog advocate along with his wife, Becky. “They truly are man’s best friend.”
