For the third straight year, Oklahoma's Olympic ambassadors — Bart Conner and Nadia Comaneci — will host some of the world's best young gymnasts and a host of other athletes at the Bart and Nadia Sports Experience, starting Friday in the Cox Convention Center.
The event kicks off with some of the top collegiate gymnasts in the country facing off in the Perfect 10 challenge. Oklahoma's No. 1-ranked women's gymnastics team will take on West Virginia, No. 7 Michigan and No. 5 Alabama starting at 6:45 p.m.
Here is a look at the other events being held this weekend in the Cox Center:
NADIA COMANECI INTERNATIONAL INVITATIONAL
*What: More than 1,500 female gymnasts of all ages competing over three days.
*When: Friday-Sunday; performances starting at 8 a.m.
*Where: Cox Center Exhibit Halls 1, 3
BART CONNER INTERNATIONAL INVITATIONAL
*What: More than 300 male gymnasts of all ages competing over two days.
*When: Friday-Saturday; performances starting at 2 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. Saturday
*Where: Cox Center main arena
*What: Fun-run 5K through the Oklahoma City Underground tunnels.
*When: 12:30 p.m. Saturday
*Where: Race starts in the Cox Center on the first floor
INDOOR KAYAK AND ROWING CHALLENGE
*What: The top kayakers in the country competing indoors on rowing machines.
*When: 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday
*Where: Cox Center
There will be several activities throughout the day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
*Archery Challenge: Learn the basic rules of archery and shoot three arrows with a real bow.
*Adventure Experience Challenge: Try your hand at slacklining — balancing on a nylon-tensioned rope.
*OKC Barons: Mini hockey games for children, Barons mascots Derrick and Bit and the Barons Ice Girls.
*OKC Thunder: Skills challenge for children, Thunder mascot Rumble and the Thunder Girls.
*Sooner Junior: Video game trailer, appearances by Boomer and Sooner, RufNeks and Sooner Schooner.
*USTA Tennis: Rally with a pro, target challenge and 10-and-under tennis.
*OKC RedHawks: Inflatable baseball game.
