BARTLESVILLE – A 21-year-old Bartlesville man was sentenced Wednesday in Washington County District Court to life in prison in the Halloween 2012 murder of his grandmother.

District Judge Curtis DeLapp followed the recommendation of a jury, who in September found Brandon William Capps guilty in the beating death of Clara Jean Hammer, and sentenced Capps to life imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.

Capps, who has been jailed for more than a year, also was sentenced in one new case and in multiple charges that were filed last October.
