Oklahoma woman receives national award

Leann Bunn, a naturalist for the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department at Tenkiller State Park, was given the Annie Oakley Award by the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Bunn received the national award, the top honor given by the NWTF to a “Women in the Outdoors” volunteer.

Bunn started a NWTF chapter at Tenkiller and founded an annual NWTF Women in the Outdoors event which has grown to more than 200 participants.

RV Super Show nears

The 44th annual RV Super Show will be March 14-17 at State Fair Park.

Show hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 14 through 16 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 17.

Admission will be $9. Ages 12 and younger receive free admission. For more information, visit www.rvshowokc.com.

Trout derby at Robbers Cave

Robbers Cave State Park near Wilburtion will hold a youth trout fishing derby on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. at the Deep Ford Campground.

The competion is open to kids in three divisions: Ages 6 and younger, ages 7 through 10, and ages 11 through 16. No fishing licenses are required.

Rod and reel and tackle boxes will be awarded as prizes. There is no entry fee.

Robbers Cave is one of the state's winter trout areas, with rainbow trouted stocked in the Fourche Maline River.
