The award was presented Friday night at a ceremony in Tyler, the hometown of former Heisman Trophy winner Campbell.

Petty accounted for 4,409 total yards and 46 yards in his first season as the starter at Baylor (11-2), which was the Big 12 champion and went to its first Bowl Championship Series game.
