Man in motion
Tim Tebow, QB, Florida: After a shaky start in the showdown of Heisman quarterbacks, Tebow pledged to rally the Gators and did, directing three second-half scoring drives. Tebow ran for critical yards on scrambles and option keepers. And he connected on key throws, including a 4-yard jump pass for a touchdown that all but clinched victory.
Percy Harvin, WR/RB, Florida: Still not 100 percent healthy, Harvin was 100 percent headache for the Sooners. He led the Gators with 122 rushing yards and a touchdown – on nine carries – and added five receptions for 49 yards.
Jermaine Gresham, TE, OU: Despite the Sooner loss, Gresham was fantastic, catching eight passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns, one he completed after running out of his shoe. Gresham gave it his all in what may have been his last game in an OU uniform.
Bob Stoops, Coach, OU: Stoops will have to live another year with the ESPN scroll reminding him of OU's BCS bowl game skid. For those counting at home – and there are many – the BCS losing streak is five.
“I saw the ball at the 7 and I said, ‘If we pound it up the middle, if we can have any success, I can get to the jump pass.' And fortunately we had some success, because I was kind of excited to call it. You know, it's fun.”
— Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen
“If you don't want (Tim Tebow) guy to show up, don't even say anything about him. When they said that, I just knew it was another edge for us.”
— Gators linebacker Brandon Spikes on Dom Franks' game week comments about Tebow
“It came down to who can win it in the fourth. They made more plays than us and that's basically what it boils down to.”
— OU linebacker Mike Balogun
