Oklahoma leading scorer Aaryn Ellenberg was in the midst of an ineffective offensive showing (eight points, 3-of-10 shooting) against Oklahoma State on Sunday when she was, quite literally, knocked out of the game.

About midway through the second half, Ellenberg ran directly into a clean screen set near midcourt by Cowgirl post Kendra Suttles. Ellenberg remained down for several minutes before OU strength and conditioning coach Jozsef Szendrei carried her off the floor.

Following the game, Sooner coach Sherri Coale was unsure of the severity of Ellenberg's injury. But she also didn't exactly sound optimistic.

“Don't know yet,” Coale said. “Not good.”

OSU retired former star Andrea Riley's jersey at halftime, making the Cowgirls' all-time leading scorer the fourth player in program history to earn that distinction.

Riley was emotional when addressing the crowd during the ceremony, particularly when touching on the impact of late coaches Kurt Budke and Miranda Serna, who were killed in a plane crash in 2011.

And when asked about her favorite Cowgirl memory, Riley easily pointed to the 2008 Bedlam game, where she racked up 45 points and zero turnovers in a blowout win that is perhaps the biggest victory in program history.

“We whooped them,” Riley said.
