Singer-songwriters McClure, Henry to perform benefit
NORMAN — Maggie McClure and Shane Henry, pictured above, will perform a benefit concert as part of Norman North High School's 12th annual “SPUD Week.” The concert from the husband-and-wife singer-songwriters will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts, 1809 Stubbeman, in Norman.
SPUD, or “Students Performing Unselfish Deeds,” raises money for area families facing unusual difficulties, such as large medical bills.
“Shane and I always enjoy performing for an Oklahoma audience,” said McClure, who graduated from Norman North in 2005. “I have performed for some amazing crowds in my career, but there is something indescribable about taking the stage in Oklahoma that cannot be replaced. Knowing that with this performance, we're also giving back to some families who need support and comfort is an overwhelming feeling and truly an honor for us both.”
The Norman band Regg will open the show. Tickets are $5 each for students and $7 each for adults at the door.
