The Oklahoman sports columnist Berry Tramel answered questions from readers in today's Power Lunch chat. Read the entire chat recap here. Participate in our Power Lunch chats Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. at NewsOK.com/sports On the possibility of Butler's Brad Stevens coming to OU: I don't think OU can get Stevens, no matter the price. He's set until he gets the job of his dreams. I don't know what that job is, by the way. For all I know, he can make Butler the job of his dreams, like Mark Few has at Gonzaga. He can get to the Final Four easier at Butler. So why leave for a job that's not elite. OU is a very good job, but Stevens, if he wants to leave Butler, can be the next coach at Indiana or Kentucky or Kansas or somewhere. On whether Marquette's Buzz Williams can "save" OU's basketball program: The program doesn't need to be saved. It needs to be resurrected to some degree. And Buzz Williams isn't a perfect fit. But he's a great fit. Oklahoma/Texas ties. Talks like us. Obviously can coach. Great personality. Good in the community. Success at a high level, like the Big East. I can't imagine a better fit out there right now. On whether recently-fired Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl would be a good fit at OU: Bruce Pearl is about to be placed in NCAA lockdown. He's likely to get one of those show-cause deals, where it's very hard to hire him. Even if that wasn't the case, Bruce Pearl would not be on my top 750,000 coaches to hire. I would go to the Congo and hire Serge Ibaka's youth coaches before I would hire Bruce Pearl. OU found NCAA trouble under Kelvin Sampson, found NCAA trouble under Jeff Capel and you want to hire Bruce Pearl? On whether the Thunder would be more dangerous with a "pure" point guard: Yes, the Thunder would be much more dangerous with a pure point guard. More dangerous at falling out of the playoff race. Pure point guards are great if you're trying to win Class 2A Oklahoma or the National Christian College Athletic Association title. If you're trying to beat the Bulls and the Celtics and the Lakers, I don't recommend a pure point guard who holds up three fingers and tries to set up a play. I recommend a guy who can blow past a defender and get the ball on the rim. I wouldn't change one thing about Russell Westbrook. Not one thing. On Arkansas hiring Mike Anderson as its basketball coach: I think Mike Anderson was a good hire for the Hogs, for a lot of reasons. Mostly, the anti-Nolan [Richardson] crowd is gone. Frank Broyles is out of power. Jeff Long is the new AD, and he's building bridges. I think that makes it a very good hire. I don't know if Anderson can build the Razorbacks into a power; he did OK at Missouri, nothing special, and they're similar jobs. Arkansas is better, but not signifcantly better.
